Peter W. Doerken
Mr. Doerken founded DPI in 1972 and continues to lead the team with decades of experience in direct real estate development, property acquisitions, renovation, construction financing and leasing. He has completed projects in excess of eight million square feet including several community shopping centers, a number of grocery-anchored neighborhood centers, over 25 health care facilities and several multi-family, office, and luxury residential projects throughout the United States. Mr. Doerken’s successful track record includes development and financial transactions valued in excess of $3.5 billion.
Mr. Doerken is an active member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), and has been a multi-year guest lecturer for Crittenden conferences. Mr. Doerken is the Founding Member of The Peter W. Doerken Foundation which works to support vulnerable women and youth in Los Angeles County and supports a number of charitable and philanthropic organizations locally, nationally, and internationally.
Additionally, Mr. Doerken has been an instrumental contributor to the Akshaya Patra Foundation in India with their program that is now feeding over 1.8 million children on a daily basis enabling these children to break free from a multigenerational farm worker lifestyle and earn the opportunity to attend some of the finest universities in the world. In turn, many of these beneficiaries of the feeding programs have grown to become leaders in the tech industry both in the Silicon Valley and in and around Bangalore, the Silicon Valley of India.
